The name

Built around one idea: speaking.

Wekos takes its name from wekwos — the reconstructed Proto-Indo-European root that gave rise to words like voice, vocal, and vocabularyacross dozens of the world's languages. It means, simply, to speak.

That's the whole point. Most language apps optimise for retention metrics, streaks, and gamification. We optimise for one thing: getting you to the point where you can open your mouth and actually say something.

The method

Words don't exist in isolation.

Every session starts with a real sentence — something a native speaker would actually say. We break it into its vocabulary, then its phrases, then put it back together. You hear it, see it, and drill it until it stops feeling foreign.
